Seven Greek consortia submit expressions of interest for the implementation of the MSW/PPP project in Eastern Macedonia & Thrace

Strong investor interest for the first phase of the PPP Waste Management contest of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace Region. The contest progresses rapidly.

The selected private partner will undertake the design, construction, financing, maintenance and operation of the waste management facility for a period of 27 years. The relevant infrastructure will have the capacity to manage about 150.000 tons / year. The lowest fee to be paid by the users will constitute the main selection criterion, while meeting all environmental goals.

As in all waste management PPP competitions in Greece, the process allows all available technologies that cover the environmental targets set by European and Greek legislation.

The project will utilize funds provided by the European Union’s structural funds for the co-financing of the construction costs, along with private funds.
