Six companies qualified to the second phase of the competition for the municipal solid waste management unit in Grammatiko (NE Attika), to be implemented through PPP 

The announcement of the pre-selected parties for the other three PPP contests of Keratea, Liosia and Fyli is also expected in the following days, in order to begin the process of the competitive dialogue. 

The contracts for the four projects should be signed within 2013, in order to secure the 200 million € of European funds, allocated to those projects. Extension of this deadline through bridge EU funding structures has however been used in the past by Greek authorities. 

Meanwhile a programmatic agreement was signed between EDSNA, the Special Assosiation of Attika Prefecture and the Municipality of Athens for the construction and operation of a waste transfer station in Elaionas, which will serve the City of Athens and the city of Egaleo,with contracting authority the Municipality and financing through the Regional Operation Plan of Attika and a budget of 13,8 m. €.
